Normally I dont pay any mind to routine procedures, such as when an employee greets a customer with a “how are you”. Interesting, however, that after three months of being abroad, the most welcoming, comforting feeling to first warm my heart was touching down in LAX and hearing four words from a cold, stone-faced immigration officer: “Welcome home, Mr. Jose.”
